Opening: Events Committee Chair


Imerman Angels is a young, exciting, grassroots nonprofit organization that provides 1-on-1 cancer support cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers living anywhere in the world. We are looking for help from skilled and fun people to support our fast-paced growth and provide assistance to our staff, volunteers and executives. This position is unpaid and provides valuable work experience, references, and access to a wonderful network.

Primary Functions

  • Help achieve the Imerman Angels mission and vision within the scope of our core values
  • Help develop, organize, coordinate and facilitate, direct and evaluate the annual events strategy and calendar
  • Provide strategy and volunteer support to the Volunteer Committee
  • Keep things upbeat, fun, and friendly


Reports To

  • Events & Communications Director


Job Duties


  • Attend Imerman Angels events
  • Coordinate planning and logistics for events, including:
    • Scheduling volunteers
    • Promoting the event
    • Help to secure sponsors and handling sponsor logistics and relationships
    • email reminders to volunteers with comprehensive instructions
    • Work and direct keystone events from set up to close down
  • Help to coordinate Angels Allies program
  • Help with Event Wrap up - thank yous, attendance and  $ totals, event pics, post event evaluation



  • Develop agendas and communicate notes to the volunteers
  • Assist running monthly meeting including facilitation, note-taking, and post-meeting follow-up
  • Maintain Google Shared docs with notes and past agendas
  • Create a fun atmosphere to garner creative thinking about events and IA

Volunteer management

  • Develop and improve volunteer management systems
  • Support Event volunteers
    • respond to their needs via email/phone
    • Field inbound volunteer and third party interests
    • track volunteer interests
    • match volunteers with projects
  • Thank and appreciate volunteers for their time, efforts and commitments



  • 6  months
  • 5 - 10 hours per week

Minimum Requirements
  • Event planning background
  • Vendor and venue management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and follow-through abilities
  • General awesomeness
