Angel Ambassadors Director
Volunteer Job Description 


Imerman Angels is a young, exciting, grassroots nonprofit organization that provides 1-on-1 cancer support cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers living anywhere in the world. We are looking for help from skilled and fun people to support our fast-paced growth and provide assistance to our staff, volunteers and executives. This position is unpaid and provides valuable work experience, references, and access to a wonderful network.

The Angel Ambassadors program aims to recruit, train, support and empower volunteers to promote the Imerman Angels mission within their own communities wherever they may live. This promotion could happen via events, campaigns, direct appeals and much more.

Primary Functions

  • Help achieve the Imerman Angels mission and vision within the scope of our core values by growing the Angel Ambassadors program
  • Lead all operations and provide effective and inspiring leadership, as well as stewardship, of Angel Ambassadors
  • Develop replicable, sustainable systems for growing the Angel Ambassadors program in remote markets in conjunction with the Imerman Active program
  • Supervise a committee of volunteers, task forces or projects as-needed
  • Represent the Imerman Angels mission and core values to the community at large
  • Keep things upbeat, fun, and friendly

  • Events & Communications Director


Job Duties

  • Recruit, train and provide ongoing support for Angel Ambassador volunteers
  • Directly or indirectly develop support materials, systems and resources including but not limited to:
    • collateral materials
    • training modules 
    • online content 
  • Attend Imerman Angels events as needed
  • Collaborate with Director of Events and Communications and Imerman Active Director to develop complimentary programs that grow support nationally
  • Help to coordinate Angels Allies program
  • Support Angel Ambassador volunteers including but not limited to:
    • respond to their needs via email/phone
    • Field inbound volunteer and third party interests
    • Thank and appreciate volunteers for their time, efforts and commitments



  • 6 months
  • variable but usually 2-4 hours per week

Minimum Preferred Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and follow-through abilities
  • Strong work ethic, a good sense of humor, a friendly personality
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, takes initiative
  • Excellent verbal, written and general computer skills (advanced use of Microsoft Excel)
  • Cancer survivor
  • Experience with Gmail and/or Google Sites or Google Apps
  • General awesomeness
